Casino Opens: Cocopahs Unveil New Gaming Facility16 December 2003YUMA COUNTY -- As reported by the Yuma Sun: ``If you want to feel like you're in Las Vegas without leaving Yuma County, the Cocopah Tribe believes their new casino is the place for you. ```It's the biggest thing Yuma's ever seen,' said Barry Webster, spokesman for Cocopah Casino. 'It's where dreams come true.' ``Webster said the new casino, which officially opened Friday night with Native American dancing and a ceremony, truly gives the feeling of being in Las Vegas. With 20,000 people expected to pass through the casino Friday night, Webster said it offers "total entertainment" to those who visit. ``Winter visitor Alex Zukowsky, who won $60 playing table blackjack, said the machines are laid out better than the old casino, providing more room to walk around. ``…The new 98,000-square-foot casino is located near the intersection of Highway 95 and County 15th Street. It includes 475 machines, eight blackjack tables, a bingo room, dining room, banquet facilities, 24-hour snack bar, sports bar and a 40-by-40-foot stage..." |
