California casino ready for entertainment bar opening

PALA, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- When Pala Casino Resort and Spa’s new “Infinity” showroom opens at 9:30 p.m., Friday, May 6, with a FREE Gabriel Iglesias After Party, it will raise the entertainment bar in Southern California.

Iglesias, the self-proclaimed “I’m not fat, I’m fluffy” funny man performs to a sold-out audience at 8 p.m. at the Starlight Theater.

Formerly the Grand Cabaret, Infinity, will be Southern California’s most versatile entertainment venue. With seating for as many as 900, it offers an intimate setting for concerts and live shows. But just as expediently, Infinity is a nightclub, a party venue and on Sundays, the new home of the Infinity Sports Experience. The Sports Experience debuts at 3 p.m., Saturday, May 7, on 17 high-definition screens with the LIVE telecast of the big horse race from Kentucky followed at 6 p.m. in Infinity and throughout the entire casino by the LIVE, closed circuit telecast of the Manny Pacquiao versus Sugar Shane Mosley 12-round title fight for the WBO welterweight championship from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Club Infinity, where a DJ mixes the hottest hits in a free dance club, will follow the Pacquaio-Mosley fight.

The Infinity Sports Experience will continue at 10 a.m., Sunday, May 8, and every Sunday, with all the major sports action of the day, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, NASCAR, horse racing and all other major special sports events.

“The entertainment possibilities are infinite,” said Pala chief executive officer Bill Bembenek. “Infinity will be unlike any other entertainment venue in San Diego County. This 10,000-square-foot room will have a high-end delay audio system, 17 giant HD video screens, which will give it the feel of a Las Vegas sports book, and state-of-the-art concert lighting.”

Infiniti also will offer blackjack tables for LIVE play each Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

While Infinity will continue to host traditional Pala events like the FREE Video Dance Parties from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Fridays and the FREE tribute band concerts from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Saturdays, followed by Club Infinity, two new weekly events will be introduced Tuesday, May 10, and Thursday, May 12.

From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, and every Tuesday thereafter, Infinity will host the 60+ Club where Pala Privileges card members, age 60+, can enjoy a 30 percent discount for lunch at Choices, Pala’s award-winning buffet; a free tribute show, drink specials, and can win a share of $300 in a weekly cash drawing. The tribute shows will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and include: May 10, impersonators of Dean Martin and Marilyn Monroe with the drink special the “Nifty Sixty Tom Collins;” Tuesday, May 17, Red Skelton, with the “Clem Kediddle-Hopper Margarita;” Tuesday, May 24, Robin Williams and the “Nanu Nanu Bloody Mary;” Tuesday, May 31, Kenny Rogers and the “Islands in the Stream Mai Tai;” Tuesday, June 7,Larry Jones, A Tribute to Danny Gans and the “Presidential Margarita;” Tuesday, June 14, Joan Rivers and the “Face Lift Pina Colada.” Future 60+ tribute shows will be announced.

Starting at 7 p.m. until 1 a.m., Thursday, May 12, and every Thursday, Infinity will host Service Industry (S.I.N.) Nights. Guests who work in the service industry are invited to enjoy the hottest nightlife with no cover charge along with a number of S.I.N.-ful specials that will include VIP bottle service upon request; discounted hotel room rates; cash and prize giveaways; free food; LIVE Blackjack play and exclusive DJ hosts.

“With S.I.N., we are creating an exciting, new entertainment event that has not been available in the marketplace. We invite everyone who works in the service industry to visit Infinity to enjoy an event especially tailored for them,” Bembenek said.

After the Pacquaio-Mosley fight on May 7, the Infinity Saturday schedule includes: 9:30 p.m., May 14, FREE After Party featuring the band Old School following the 7:15 p.m. FREE Outdoor Tribute concert at the Starlight Theater with The Joshua Tree, a tribute to U-2 and Queen Nation, a tribute to Queen; 7 p.m., May 21, FREE PBR After Party featuring Hill Country and The Ranch Rockers following the first day of the Pala PBR Touring Pro Division competition at the Pala rodeo grounds, and 8 p.m., May 28, Caress of Steel, a tribute to RUSH followed by Club Infinity.

More Infinity special events will be announced.
