Caesars is Fined for Violations3 May 2004INDIANAPOLIS -- As reported by the Courier-Journal: ``Caesars Indiana will pay a fine of more than $14,800 for allowing customers under 21 to board the Harrison County gambling boat on nine occasions from March 2002 to January 2004. ``The Indiana Gaming Commission approved the fine yesterday as part of an effort to eliminate a backlog of violations at the state's 10 casinos. In all, the commission approved more than $745,000 in fines. ``…The gaming commission also is creating a new system for fines related to underage patrons illegally boarding the boats. Currently, a casino is fined $1,500 for the first offence, with the fines for subsequent violations within that year escalating from there. ``The new policy will reward a casino that has no such violations for six months. Any violations after six months will begin again at $1,500 and will begin escalating for subsequent violations…" |
