Boomtown Names New Director of IT

RENO, Nevada – (PRESS RELEASE) -- Boomtown Casino and Hotel Reno has promoted Peggy Dougherty to Director of Information Technology.

Under the new title, Dougherty will oversee all technology and system applications and support for Boomtown's nearly 1,000 employees.

Serving as Boomtown application specialist since June 1999, Dougherty has been responsible for accounting and payroll system support, as well as database administration and security and telecommunications programs. She also headed up development of Boomtown's information technology help desk and timekeeping managerial training program.

With the promotion, Dougherty says she will join with a knowledgeable information technology staff to further technology program development and support to enhance the Boomtown guest experience.

"We look to do all we can to assist and develop new technologies that will allow our team members to meet and exceed the needs of our guests. Questions like 'What if.....,' 'How could we….' and 'What about…' are always welcome," Dougherty explains.
