Boomer’s Sportsbook opens at Ellis Island Casino Hotel & Brewery11 August 2025(PRESS RELEASE) -- On Monday, 4 August, former Las Vegas mayor Oscar Goodman and his iconic showgirls were on hand for a ribbon cutting to mark the opening of the new Boomer’s Sportsbook at Ellis Island Casino Hotel & Brewery. Joining Oscar was current Mayor Shelley Berkley, along with Ellis Island Casino & Hotel CEO Gary Ellis and Boomer’s Sportsbook President & CEO Joe Asher. The legendary Mayor Goodman made the ceremonial first bets - $250 on the Padres to win the World Series and $250 on the Raiders to win the Super Bowl and said that if the bets win, all winnings will be donated to charity. Mayor Berkley also bet on the Raiders to win the Super Bowl. Boomer’s Sportsbook is the only independent sportsbook in Nevada, now operating at both Ellis Island and at Casino Valle Verde in Henderson. It also operates at the site of the old Commercial Casino in downtown Elko. In addition to betting in the sportsbook, customers can also sign up for a mobile account at the sportsbook, allowing them to place wagers anywhere within the state of Nevada by using the Boomer’s mobile app available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. First time users are eligible for a $250 deposit match, giving users up to $250 in bonus bets. Boomer’s will also announce an exciting promotion for the upcoming football season shortly. |
