Australia: Packer in gaming floor smoking battle8 July 2013SYDNEY, Australia -- Crown desire to permit smoking on gaming floor of planned Sydney Casino has come under serious criticism, The Brisbane Times reported. Health care groups are outraged but Crown insist that allowing smoking on the gaming floor is critical to their operation, the report said. James Packer said in order to compete with Macau and Singapore that Crown must allow smoking in its VIP gambling areas, however Crown proposes that the entire gaming floor, some 20, 000 square meters will be a VIP area, according to the Brisbane Times report. |
