APPT Macau Season Five ready to launch14 November 2011MACAU -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- PokerStars Macau at Casino Grand Lisboa hosts the third leg of the PokerStars.net Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) from November 17-27, 2011. The 11-day poker festival features the HKD $30,000 Main Event which boasts a HKD $6,000,000 Guarantee. All indications suggest that Season 5 will be even bigger and richer than Season 4 where PokerStars qualifier Victorino Torres beat the 342-player field. The 34-year-old attorney from the Northern Mariana Islands won the HKD $3,246,200 grand prize -- total prize pool was HKD $12,730,608. "There are already over 150 players in the Main Event who have either qualified on PokerStars or pre-registered." said newly appointed APPT President Danny McDonagh. "At our current pace we'll break the $6,000,000 guarantee on Day 1A alone." "PokerStars Macau is looking to make it a perfect 6-for-6 for year-on-year growth after already completing 5 record breaking events in 2011 (Macau Millions, Macau Poker Cup Championship, Macau Poker Cup: Red Dragon in February, June, August). The complete APPT Macau schedule has 14 Official Asia Player of the Year Events including the HKD $100,000 High Rollers, HKD $15,000 NLH (HKD $1,000,000 Guarantee) and the opening weekend's $10,000 NLH which has an HKD $800,000 guarantee. Live APPT Macau satellites begin November 14 at PokerStars Macau and the first side event is Thursday's Event 1: $1,000 Charity Event + 2 Rebuys ($50,000 Added Prizes) that benefits local charities.
