Another millionaire is made at Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City29 May 2013ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Sunday night at Harrah's Resort, Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City kicked-off a summer where a guaranteed $4 million was up-for-grabs, however that total has since changed. In front of a packed house, Patricia P. Sheik, a newly retired elementary school teacher, outlasted 19 competitors by playing Millionaire Maker powered by Total Rewards and ultimately claiming the prize of $1 million, and becoming the 715th person to join Caesars Entertainment's Millionaire's Club. By 10pm, 20 potential millionaires lined up side-by-side in front of the lavish Millionaire Maker game-show style set. Master of Ceremonies Robin Leach welcomed the masses and had some words for these 20 Total Rewards members, words privy to only those who had experienced a life of luxury and riches – "With $1 million you can purchase three Rolls Royces and still have enough money left over to spend on gas for the entire year; you can get yourself a lavish yacht and set sail on the Atlantic, or you can even live the life of a true high-roller, checking in to the Presidential Suite for the entire year," Leach proclaimed in his deep yet well-mannered voice. "This is one million dollars! Tonight, Harrah's Resort will change the lives of one of you, but remember everyone here today is a winner." And so it began, two wavy-haired models adorned in Millionaire Maker tuxedo bustiers, plucked the contestant names from a tumbler, to determine the order of the drawing. With each name called, the Millionaire Maker aspirant entered a large vault, where they were tasked with selecting a gold bar, one of which would be the winner. Some rushed the procedure and grabbed the first bar that came within arm's reach, others patiently pondered the pyramid of gold bars and selected one of which truly spoke to their caviar wishes. As number twenty was called John Smith, Harrah's Resort Senior Vice President and General Manager and Kevin Ortzman, Caesars, Bally's, and Showboat Senior Vice President and General Manager made their way to the podium and instructed each participant to hold their gold bars high into the air and show the crowd which number they had drawn. With a powerful stroke, Smith spun the wheel. Every eye stationed at the resort hawk-fully watched the hypotonic spin of the numbers. "Four, Twelve, Nineteen," numbers kept whizzing by much to the chagrin and grin of the various rooting parties. As the wheel's momentum began its descent, distributed flutes of champagne began to bubble over the hands of the audience, confetti and balloons were administered their last rites, and even Robin Leach, the man who witnessed more millionaires than anyone in the annuals of history, grew taut. "Click, click, click," the wheel stopped. And the winning number is – "3," contestants' gold bars dropped from the sky, with only one remaining steadied. Patricia P. Sheik had done the unthinkable. She had claimed the proud distinction of being Caesars Entertainment's newest millionaire: "I had a number 3 and the number 3 came up and it was mind-blowing, hard to put into words," exclaimed an elated Sheik. "I never had experienced anything quite like this; right now I'm so shocked and pleased. Just to hear my name called as part of the millionaire maker was enough, and I would have just been happy with the Total Rewards points, said Ms Sheik. "I didn't think I would win the million dollars, just yet, I mean it had always been something in the back of my mind. Since I had started playing at Caesars Atlantic City I knew my ship would eventually come in, I just didn't think it would have been that big of a ship." Patricia has been a loyal Caesars Atlantic City patron for the last twenty-plus-years, attributing her love for the hotel and casino to the "excellent staff" that make her stays memorable. When asked what she plans on doing with the money the avid sea glass collector and gardening enthusiast said she wants to take care of her entire family, thus ensuring their financial future. She also made light of the fact that her generosity will reach into her extended family which includes birds, squirrels, and two mallards. Sheik is now Caesars Entertainment's 715th millionaire made; three other people will join her ranks with Millionaire Maker drawings on July 6, August 3 and September 1. It should also be noted that Sheik isn't the only millionaire to have lived in Lakewood, NJ, affluent residents include philanthropist and industrialist, John D. Rockefeller. Total Rewards members will earn entries for their play throughout the earning periods. From 1 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on drawing days—July 6, Aug. 3 and Sept. 1—winners will be selected every 30 minutes at each casino to win free slot play.
