Agua Caliente, Spa Resort give for good cause20 June 2008PALM SPRINGS, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -– Team members at Agua Caliente Casino • Resort • Spa in Rancho Mirage and Spa Resort Casino in Palm Springs rolled up their sleeves for a good cause in June, donating blood at two casino-sponsored drives. More than 60 team members took part in the blood drive with Community Blood Bank of Rancho Mirage. A total of 42 units were collected. Since a unit of blood is processed into various components, the blood donated at the casino drives has the potential to save as many as 126 lives. Agua Caliente Casino • Resort • Spa and Spa Resort Casino host life-saving blood drives at least once a year. Chief Operating Officer David Fendrick says the drives are part of the Tribe's commitment to the community, as well as its team members. "We are always looking for ways to give back to the community. Not only do we save lives by hosting blood drives, we also foster a sense of team spirit among our staff. It's a win-win for everybody involved." The blood drives come at a key time, as blood donations historically drop off during the summer months while usage remains steady. |
