Adelaide Casino Expansion Opens

NEW ZEALAND – As reported by the New Zealand Stuff: "Gaming company SkyCity Entertainment Group hopes to boost the relatively flat revenue and earnings at its Adelaide Casino when a A$20 million (NZ$21.6 million) expansion project – part of a proposed A$70 million investment – opens this week.

"The expansion will advance the company's entertainment strategy with new venues and gambling facilities, as it seeks to attract more locals and visitors.

"The project – almost six months behind the original plan to open by last Christmas – aims to lift returns in the second half of this financial year, but ran into conservation issues relating to the heritage-listed Adelaide Railway Station building housing the casino.

"…The expanded Adelaide operation, which opens to the public today after an 'unlocking the door' party for invited guests last night, will add a third restaurant to the complex, and two more bars to make a total of six, as well as introducing private function and dining rooms…"
