7 Clans Casinos to close on 22 March20 March 2020(PRESS RELEASE) -- 7 Clans First Council Casino Hotel, 7 Clans Paradise Casino, 7 Clans Perry Casino, 7 Clans Gasino Red Rock and 7 Clans Gasino Chilocco will be closing the remainder of its casinos, hotel, water park and restaurants on Sunday morning, 22 March, at 2 a.m. As calls for community quarantines begin, many businesses like 7 Clans have struggled with timing and which social responsibility they serve first. “In the rural communities we serve, we have a lot of people that rely on us,” Bruce Barnett, CEO of 7 Clans Casinos, added, “well over 700 employees for their livelihoods, in some cases our neighbors for their meals, and most importantly, our tribal elders and members all count on us.” In just 14 years, 7 Clans has grown to include five popular casino venues, Oklahoma’s largest indoor water park/hotel/resort, restaurants, a credit union, and numerous other business ventures. Chairman John Shotton has served as Chairman of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe for 13 of those years. He added, “We have faced and overcame many challenges along the way to where we are today, and have conquered them all, all in the same way, together. We pray for all people affected by this devastating virus. We also pray for a rapid recovery to this national health and economic crisis.” In addition to providing some pay and benefits, 7 Clans is in the process of forming a transition team to assist employees that will be affected by the closure in accessing all the benefits afforded to them by the Coronavirus Relief Bill signed on Wednesday by President Trump. |
