2022 World Series of Poker Week 2 in review

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The excitement continues as the 53rd annual World Series of Poker wraps its second week of play at Bally's - Las Vegas, the future Horseshoe Las Vegas, and Paris Las Vegas. The WSOP once again eclipsed the 20,000-participant mark – this time with its Housewarming No-Limit Hold’em event – including players from more than 90 countries and every U.S. state represented. As the dust settles, week two of the WSOP is proving to be a landmark moment indicating a successful return of international poker play.

Week 2 Highlights

- Finally! Dan Smith takes home his first bracelet in Event #6: $25K Heads-Up No-Limit Hold’em Championship
  • Formerly known as the best player without a WSOP bracelet, an emotional Dan Smith emerged victorious, besting a high-profile field of 64 players and taking home $509,717 in winnings.
- Henry Acain wins his first gold bracelet in one of the largest live fields in poker history
  • California resident Henry Acain bested a record-breaking field of more than 20,000 players to earn his first gold bracelet and six-figure cash in Event #5: $500 The Housewarming No-Limit Hold’em.
- David Peters claims his fourth gold bracelet in one of the fastest final tables in WSOP history
  • David Peters took home his fourth WSOP bracelet along with $1,166,810 after just 26 hands in the final table in Event #2: $100K High Roller Bounty, moving him up to fifth place on poker’s all-time money list.
- Mid-week fields see a massive number of participants
  • Week two saw massive fields the entire week including a whopping 5,715 entrants in Event #11: No-Limit Hold’em Deepstack, 2,392 entrants in Event #14: 6-handed No-Limit Hold’em and 1,240 entrants in Event #16: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em.
