The Slot Expert's Guide to Winning at Slots and Video Poker17 July 2000
You can hear me give my slot and video poker tips live on The Good Times Show, hosted by Rudi Schiffer with Frank Scoblete, which is broadcast live from Memphis on WHBQ over the air on 560AM and over the Internet on Yahoo! Broadcast on Saturday morning from 8-10 CT. Jean Scott, the Queen of Comps and author of The Frugal Gambler, taught me this tip, which applies to all gamblers. I call it "two for the price of none." Do you ever get two-for-one offers for meals in a casino? The fine print usually says that it cannot be combined with any other offer or comp. Many people would like to use a comp for the meal they have to pay for, and the offer for the second meal. But that's against the rules. If you're staying at the hotel, here's how you can work around the restriction. Charge the meal to your room. At the end of your stay, tell your host or someone at the slot club booth that you charged a meal to your room and you were wondering if you had enough play to get it comped. If you have enough play, they'll remove the charge from your bill. Voila. Two for the price of none. Send your slot and video poker questions to John Robison, Slot Expert, at slotexpert@home.com.
