The Slot Expert's Guide to Winning at Slots and Video Poker

We've covered this area before, but it bears repeating and I have a new example to share with you.

Playing just about every casino game will cost you some money in the long run because the casino has the odds in its favor. We've looked at different ways to cut that house advantage to the bone and here is one of the best.

Join the players club and use your card when you play.

At the risk of sounding like a club brochure, your players club card is your key to the world of complimentaries that the casino offers. The casino can't give you anything if they don't know who you are and that you're playing.

Jean Scott, the author of The Frugal Gambler, recently shared with me her yearend totals for gambling. She had a loss overall from playing video poker. (Keep in mind that most of her play was on machines that pay back more than 100% in the long run. One year is really the short run for slots and video poker.) Even though she had a loss from play, her bottom line was a profit.

How did she manage to turn a profit? She collected enough cashback to almost breakeven and when she included free meals and shows and other goodies, she was firmly in positive territory.
