The Slot Expert's Guide to Winning at Slots and Video Poker12 June 2000
You can hear me give my slot and video poker tips live on The Good Times Show, hosted by Rudi Schiffer with Frank Scoblete, which is broadcast live from Memphis on WHBQ over the air on 560AM and over the Internet on Yahoo! Broadcast on Saturday morning from 8-10 CT. If you want to maximize your slot club cashback and comps, don't play video slots in multi-game units. Most multi-game units, such as Game King and Game Maker, have both video poker and slot games in them. Most slot club systems can't tell which game you're playing on a multi-game unit. Also, most slot clubs require more play from a video poker player than a slot player to get the same benefits because video poker machines usually pay back more than slot machines. Slot clubs, therefore, go for the lowest common denominator and reward play on multi-game units as if they were video poker machines only. When you play a video slot game on a multi-game unit, then, you are usually bucking a higher house edge than a video poker player, but you are being rewarded as if you were playing at video poker's lower house edge. So, to maximize your slot club benefits when you play Double Diamonds or RWB or Blazing 7s, play the conventional, reel-spinning machine and not the video version in a multi-game unit.
