Golden Touch Craps, casino gambling's premier advantage-play school, announced its spring and early summer schedule of dice control classes, which will be given on Saturday and Sunday, March 26 and 27 in Atlantic City; Saturday and Sunday, April 9 and 10 in Memphis; and Saturday and Sunday, June 25 and 26 in Las Vegas.

The dice control class teaches all the basic skills a new student needs to develop a controlled dice throw, along with proper betting styles to take advantage of one's edge. The course teaches how to handle random rollers who are your average craps players not playing with an edge, and how to structure one's betting so random rollers don't hurt your bankroll too much.

"The class is intense," states best-selling author Frank Scoblete, the lead instructor. "Students will be in small groups of no more than four or five so that our dozen or more instructors can teach them individually and give each student plenty of practice time."

"This is really a hands-on experience with careful individual instruction," said Dominator, another lead instructor in the Golden Touch dice control class.

In addition to such small student/teacher ratios, each small group of students will have its own mentor who stays with the group through the entire weekend.

Marilyn, the Goddess, explained more fully the mentor program. "The mentors are assigned four students as a group. The mentors stay with their group throughout the two days of classes. We introduce ourselves via e-mail prior to the classes."

She continued: "On Saturday and Sunday, the mentors stay with their groups as they progress from instructor to instructor and station to station, and we tell the next instructor what problem, if any, is being concentrated on. We also make sure that everyone has the same amount of shooting time by ensuring that they take turns being one, two, three or four.

"At the first station, student number one goes first; then at the second station number two goes first, and so on. That way, the students can concentrate on learning and the instructors concentrate on teaching.

"The mentors also try to make sure the students are not confused or getting conflicting information. Essentially, the mentor's job is to make the learning process easier, and to have one person a student can go to with a question or problem. The mentor then answers the question, gets the answer, or finds a solution to a problem that may have arisen. The mentor is the lynchpin or the glue that holds the weekend together, as well as the ombudsman, for the students.

"The students' feedback says they enjoy and appreciate the mentor program, and the mentors really enjoy working with their individual groups."

An important aspect of the mentoring program concerns the progress of the students in their attainment of the elements necessary for creating a controlled throw. Since the mentors see the student throughout the weekend, he or she can focus in on that student's needs as the class progresses and inform the instructors what to work on.

In Atlantic City and Las Vegas, on Friday evening students and their guests enjoy a "Meet and Greet" party. In addition at all venues, Friday afternoons are reserved for past Golden Touch students to take tune-ups with individual instructors. During the weekend, two-day "refresher" classes are also given to previous students and in Atlantic City and Las Vegas advanced classes are given to those students who are moving up the ladder of dice control success.

In Atlantic City and Las Vegas, an "elite video analysis" individual session is also offered where one student's throw is filmed and analyzed by two instructors.

Some of the Golden Touch dice control teachers have gained fame in the world of advantage play and writing. These include gambling's number one best-selling author and columnist Frank Scoblete, along with best-selling authors and columnists Dominator and Bill Burton. They are joined by columnists Jerry "Stickman," John "Skinny," Marilyn "the Goddess," Billy "the Kid," and Lee "Section Eight."

"I believe we have the best instructors and they come from all over the country," stated Bob "Mr. Finesse," who is in charge of the tune-up program and is known in the dice control world as Ole Eagle Eye.
