Does stopping a spin improve my chances of hitting a big win?

Love reading people's questions and your answers. I've sent this question before and I think it is a very good question and needs a reply. So I will continue submitting it until...

My question: While playing slots I sometimes hit the spin button while the wheels are currently spinning thus this causes the wheels to stop immediately even on those that have not started. Sometimes I get a big win. So I try this usually when the first wheel has a symbol related to a possible big win. This I believe stops the machine from achieving the RNG it calculated prior to the spin. This can be done on most of the slots but not all.

Please address this question and your thoughts on what is happening.

Today's your lucky day. I've answered this question before, but it's been a while so here we go again.

Stopping the reels from spinning has absolutely no effect on the outcome of a spin. The reels will still stop on the symbols selected by the RNG. You still would have gotten the big win even if you hadn't stopped the reels. The only thing you've done is cut out the spinning of the reels, sometimes called "the show" in the slot biz.

There's no advantage to stopping the reels, but there is a danger. When you decrease the time it takes to show the results of a spin, you increase the number of spins you can do per hour. That's good if you're trying to earn a certain number of slot club points in as short a time as possible, but it's not good if you're trying to stretch your bankroll. More spins per hour means you'll give a greater amount of action per hour, which means a larger expected loss per hour. The only time it makes sense to play faster is when you have the edge over the casino.
