Did I switch machines one spin too soon?23 August 2010
Dear Truman, It's more random. The random number generator (RNG) in the software running the machine is constantly generating new outcomes. For you to have hit the good payout on the first machine, you would have had to have hit the Spin button at the exact same instant that the other player hit it. It wasn't the case that next spin was going to have a good payout. It was the case that the value of the RNG corresponded to a combination with a good payout at the instant the other player hit the Spin button. Best of luck in and out of the casinos, Send your slot and video poker questions to John Robison, Slot Expert, at slotexpert@comcast.net. Because of the volume of mail I receive, I regret that I can't reply to every question. This article is provided by the Frank Scoblete Network. Melissa A. Kaplan is the network's managing editor.
