Ask The Slot Expert

Can you recommend an instructional software program on Video Poker that allows you to play along as you are instructed in your plays? I am new at the game and I find it is extremely addictive, but I need help with my strategy. I am not aware of any software programs or web sites that would be helpful.

The best program available today is Bob Dancer Presents WinPoker by Zamzow Software. It's available from Zamzow's site (www.zamzone.com) and from Huntington Press (www.greatstuff4gamblers.com). Huntington Press also sells strategy cards.

Other sites you might want to visit are: www.jazbo.com (many good articles about video poker), www.vphomepage.com (a pay site with a lot of good information and strategies), videopoker.casino.com (articles by Dan Paymar, whose strategy cards I use), and www.videopoker.com (a site where you can play many multi-hand games for free).

Finally, Frank's book Victory at Video Poker has strategies for dozens of games and lots of other good video poker info.
