Are the paybacks the same on progressives?

17 November 2007

Is the percentage payback on $1 Jeopardy progressive machines the same irrespective of the machines' geographical location, e.g., Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Foxwoods, etc. or location within an area, e.g., different casinos in Atlantic City or location within a given casino?

Thanks.

According to the par sheets for progressive machines I've seen, I would say that all of the machines in one gaming jurisdiction have the same long-term payback percentage, but machines in a different jurisdiction may have a different long-term payback.

So, all the Jeopardy progressives in Atlantic City have the same long-term payback and all the Jeopardy progressives in Nevada have the same long-term payback, but the two paybacks are not necessarily the same.

Best of luck in and out of the casinos,
John

Dear John,

I came across your site. I love reading all the comments and letters from other people.

I have a question but it's regarding diamond card I am not if I am wording it right but here it goes....

How many tier points do I need to maintain being a "diamond card"? I appreciate your response very much.

Alina

Dear Alina,

I assume you're referring to the Diamond tier in Harrah's Total Rewards program.

According to the information on the Harrah's site, Diamond tier requires that you earn 10,000 tier credits per year. You earn one tier credit for each $5 coin-in on a slot machine and each $10 coin-in on a video poker machine.

Best of luck in and out of the casinos,
John
