Q. Is a person better off playing two quarters on a two-quarter [reel-spinning] slot or nine or 10 nickels on a nickel slot?
Also, on a progressive slot it states that in order to win the jackpot one has to play the maximum amount. On a nickel progressive machine this quite often has 20 lines and play of maybe five coins per line. ... (read more)

Over the years, I've written many times that baccarat is the best no-brainer bet in the casino. If you've been reading this column for long, you know that there are little differences within games, optional rules that make a difference in your shot to win.

I'd met Al before. He'd come to at least one of my seminars, and we once found ourselves at the final table in a blackjack tournament. Neither of us won.
So when he called out my name from a blackjack table, I waved and walked over to say hello. He colored up his chips and said he had something he wanted to talk about way from the table.

Don't Surrender to the Temptations of Casino Surrender21 March 2006
I've heard that surrender is a good thing for blackjack players, even though you don't see it that often. Does the same thing go for Casino Surrender? I've seen it at three or four different casinos now, and I'm wondering if it's something I should be doing.
