10.) Beer

It's easily obtainable, whether you're at a casino or bar or need to pick some up on the way to a friend's house for a card party, and there's a vast variety to choose from. It goes well with peanuts, popcorn and essentially any other snack food and it's associated with everything from playing darts, shooting pool or watching a ball game. This is a no-brainer.

This trendy summer-time cocktail, made with light rum, lime juice, sugar and fresh mint sprigs, goes great with a nice cigar. Toss gambling into the equation and you've got yourself the perfect trio.

8.) Bloody Mary

Whether you're nursing a hangover, trying to ease into things with your first cocktail of the day or simply trying to fill your daily requirement of Vitamin C, Bloody Marys are always a great option. You can get creative with both the recipe and the garnishes, but if you're at a casino don't expect much more than a V-8 and a jigger of low-grade vodka.

This classic drink fills the scotch/whiskey quota on our list and, naturally, lands at No. 7. It's a basic recipe (Seagram's 7 mixed with 7-Up) that sparkles and goes down smooth. Considering the name and numeration it could also be an interesting drink of choice at the craps table.

6.) Tanqueray and Tonic

Tanqueray, a British gin, has cornered the gin and tonic market thanks mostly to the fact that it sounds cool to order a "T&T." It's always garnished with a lime and the latest trend is to add a splash of some sort of juice. Tanqueray is also a great option for a martini.

To a lesser extend, this popular cocktail (Captain Morgan spiced run and Coca-Cola) accomplishes the same goal as our No. 1 drink since the caffeine in the soda will certainly give you a rush. Order it with Diet Coke and call it a "Skinny Pirate."

4.) Martini (shaken, not stirred)

In honor of James "007" Bond, who often used the catchphrase "shaken, not stirred" when ordering his drink of choice. Bond first asked for his drink in this manner while at a casino in the novel Casino Royale and it later made its way into many of the Bond films. The actual name of the drink is a Vesper Martini, in honor of one of the famed Bond girls, Vesper Lynd, and it includes both vodka and gin with a twist of a lemon rather than an olive.

3.) Tequila

It's a drink that is becoming more and more popular as something that is sipped straight up or on the rocks, but the traditional use is to help you go quickly from being "buzzed" to "drunk." Keep in mind, however, that if you're at a casino, the customary salt and lime that go with a shot of "te-kill-ya" may not go over well with your pit boss.

Popping the cork of some bubbly, expensive or otherwise, is the obvious choice if you've run into a fortuitous string of good luck at the tables (see Scotty Nguyen at this year's WSOP) or in the sports book. A pick-me-up that has become a staple of the late night crowd all over the world. Its unique combination of a depressant (vodka) and a stimulant (Red Bull) makes it a perilous choice when gambling, but there's no question it will keep you awake as you get deeper into the night and closer to dawn. Also, keep in mind that this is typically one of the most expensive drinks on the menu, unless, of course, you're taking advantage of the free cocktail ritual at casinos.
