The Parity-Hedge system, part 1

7 June 2008

Dear Frank,

Just finished getting the gist of the five step advantage-play method from your book Forever Craps and I had a few questions and comments.

Number one is who is the Captain? Is that you?

Second, the Supersystem has got some pretty infamous success stories. Dude, what it is straight up is the Parity-Hedge system, without the Don't Side. Now I don't know if you know the history, but it is why I asked, who is the Captain, and how long has he had this system?

The reference Internet site is Quantaloos, and as the story goes, late sixties, these three whiz kids came up with the system, found a Japanese business man that could afford to run it, and he promptly made five or six million bucks from it in the early 1970s. Went to collect on his way to the airport, and was taken to the desert and killed. Point being, at the bottom of the page, and from close ascertain, the system did employ the doey-don't, with heavy bets on the do side. Notice the picture of the businessman and where his bets are.

Now supposedly Benny Binion bailed these kids out with the mob, and the Parity-Hedge System was buried with the silver bars in Ted Binion's desert vault before he was murdered. One interesting question....the Parity-Hedge appears to have incorporated the Don't side also using the Doey-Don't, do you know how?

So wrapping up... Who is the Captain? Did the whiz kids develop the Parity-Hedge from the Supersystem, or vice-versa? How long has the Supersystem been in existence? How could the Don't odds, since they have be laid at 2-1, be implemented? And one last question . . . can you ever take down odds bets when using the Doey-Don't?

Yours truly,
Steve

Dear Steve:

I am not the Captain. Although many people evidently don't know this, the Captain has played at the tables with some Golden Touch Craps dice control students in the past few years and some of our members have spoken to him over the phone. One of our dice control instructors, Satch, was a member of the Captain's Crew and I wrote about him (as Dave the barnacle) in Beat the Craps Out of the Casinos, my first book.

This Parity-Hedge system is a fraud, at least that is what I have heard. It has been put up on the Internet as a satire of gambling systems. The name of the site is taken from a Star Trek episode where a bunch of disembodied brains are betting against each other on a contest of warrior skills among various creatures, including Captain Kirk. If I am wrong about this fraud business, someone can write me and totally describe the system used. I doubt it exists since it is impossible to beat with a pure betting system.

Don't odds are not always two to one. They are two to one on the 4 and 10; three to two on the 5 and 9, and six to five on the 6 and 8.

You can always take your odds down on both the Do side and the Don't side of the game.

For your excellent question, I am giving you a free 10-day subscription to my members-only, private web site at www.goldentouchcraps.com. We have over 5,000 members on this private site and the conversations are interesting, educational and fun.

All the best in and out of the casinos!
