Top 10 New Year's Eve parties

18 December 2017

As Andy Williams says, it's the most wonderful time of the year. And what better way to usher in the New Year than by partying your butt off? Thankfully, casinos across the country will be rolling out the red carpet for guests, providing nonstop, all-night entertainment, free champagne and fantastic fireworks displays.

Here are the top 10 properties likely to crank it up to 11 on New Year's Eve.

10. Ring in 2018 on the river at Rivers Casino
Rivers Casino in Pennsylvania will host a celebration in the Overtime banquet room with VDJ Rambo, starting the night off right with some electric tunes.

Meanwhile, the Countdown to Cash promotion will see ten lucky winners split $40,000 in cash and $5,000 free slot play.

To top it off, live entertainment will play throughout the day on the gaming floor, ensuring that no one misses the festivities.

9. Mohegan Sun to host multiple New Year's Eve celebrations
Mohegan Sun, Connecticut's premier casino, has more than one celebration planned.

Across the property, guests can party hard in the Uncas Ballroom, The Landsowne Irish Pub, Mohegan Sun Arena or at one of many nightclubs. Open bars, breakfast buffets and pyrotechnic displays will make this a New Year's Eve to remember.

8. Jack Cincinnati to throw New Year's Eve bash
Those of you in Cincinnati, Ohio, can take a trip to JACK Cincinnati Casino, where showgirls, a selfie station and aerial performers are merely the night's opening acts.

There will also be a capuchin monkey and a DJ by the name of Jessica the Ripper, which is probably the coolest DJ name we've come across. Those who aren't looking for a dance floor can enjoy high-quality offerings and champagne at the casino's buffet.

There will also be a much-needed "hangover brunch" on 1 January.

7. South Point Hotel unveils New Year's plans
South Point Hotel Casino and Spa will put the focus on live entertainment this New Year's Eve, hosting show-stopping acts like Generations of Rock and Roll, The Alley Cats and an obligatory '80s dance party. Guests can also enjoy complimentary champagne toasts.

6. Hard Rock Lake Tahoe goes all-out for New Year's
This Nevada casino will host theme parties and offer exclusive menu options on New Year's.

Live entertainment will be in top form, as well. Electrify: Rock 'n' Roll Burlesque, Hard Rock's new resident show, will make its debut, with dancers making their way to the Revolution Ballroom later in the evening for "A Night of Roaring Glamor Dinner Show." With a gourmet buffet, jazz dance band and, most importantly, complimentary champagne, this sounds like one event you won't want to miss.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino - Lake Tahoe will also be hosting an '80s party, since that seems to be The Thing this year.

5. Plaza Hotel and Casino to celebrate New Year in classic Vegas style
The Plaza Hotel and Casino plans to throw a party in classic Las Vegas style, which means entertainment, nostalgic food selections and complimentary champagne.

Oscar's Lounge will host Larry Liso, who will belt out some Rat Pack-inspired tunes late into the evening.

4. The Cosmopolitan reveals jam-packed New Year's schedule
Where other properties may choose to bank on nostalgia, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is bringing in some big contemporary names, such as The Foo Fighters and Zac Brown Band. Meanwhile, hip-hop heroes French Montana, DJ Mustard and EDM sensation Galantis will be entertaining throughout the night.

3. SugarHouse Casino announces December events and promotions
This Pennsylvania property will be offering a series of sumptuous three-course menus on New Year's, along with quite a few beverage specials.

Don't miss the fireworks display on the waterfront.

2. Hyde Bellagio unveils December events
Revelers at the Hyde Bellagio can enjoy a countdown to the New Year by "the lake," the property's picturesque fountains. For this occasion they'll be transformed into a garden, drawing attention to an indoor-outdoor space and terrace.

After the countdown, guests can enjoy some tunes from DJ Hollywood.

1. Downtown Grand Las Vegas brings back the '20s for New Year's
Downtown Grand Las Vegas's GRAND Gatsby party sounds like a real hoot, and it easily takes the number one spot on both this list and our list of parties we absolutely wish we could attend.

Come 31 December, the roaring '20s will be back in full swing, and guests can enjoy swanky music, ambience and a cast of authentically-dressed characters. And we're definitely interested to see what form a "prohibition-style" pub crawl will take. (Thankfully, this event also features a hangover brunch on 1 January.)

Best of all, it's free to attend.
