Court-appointed receiver for LVH relinquishing duties

21 June 2013

LAS VEGAS -- Ronald Johnson, the court-appointed receiver for the off-Strip LVH - Las Vegas Hotel and Casino, formally checks out on June 30.

Clark County District Judge Elizabeth Gonzalez approved the move at a short Thursday hearing that ends his 16-month tenure. After that, all control and operations will reside with the current management team.

Johnson came into the post on Feb. 1, 2012, after the previous ownership had defaulted on its debt and chose not to engage in a protracted legal battle to hang on. He held full operating authority until Nov. 1, when the ownership changed through foreclosure.

Since then, he has stayed on while the Nevada State Gaming Control Board completed an audit of the LVH, resulting in an $894,000 refund of a security deposit to cover gaming taxes. Johnson has also handled other deposits and paid certain bills, such as insurance.
