Nevada casinos lose $6.8 billion in 2009

Nevada's highest-grossing casinos generated a net loss of almost $6.8 billion in 2009, by far the largest for the state. The net loss was the first since 2002, when casinos lost $33.5 million after the Sept. 11 attacks in 2001 impacted air travel.
