Youth projects win Lottery cash20 August 2007SCOTLAND -- As reported by the BBC: "Lottery grants worth more than £1m have been awarded to a number of youth projects across Scotland. "An anti-racism project and a youth radio station are among the 11 projects receiving the Big Lottery Fund money. "Strathclyde Police was awarded almost £500,000 for sports and leisure activities to tackle anti-social behaviour and race-related crime. "Totalling £1,401,714, the grants from Big's Young People's Fund aim to help people aged 11 to 25. "The fund gives awards to projects which help young people learn new things and take part in healthy and positive activities that make them feel good about themselves...." |
