Youth Force, Maoist cadres in Nepal casino turf war

KATHMANDU -- As reported by The Himalayan Times: "The clash between the UML-affiliated Youth Force and the CPN-Maoist-affiliated union in Valley's casinos has intensified with two fights breaking out between the two sides in as many days.

"Some 500 YF members descended on Casino Everest today with an intention to attack the Maoist-affiliated employees. However, police foiled the attempt.

"...The YF has declared a war on the Maoist union and casino owners, seeking space for the UML-affiliated union in the casinos.

"...Sher Bahadur Tamang, in-charge of Youth Force of Kathmandu-2... claimed that the Maoists had attacked UML-affiliated employees at Casino Everest and Casino Nepal of Soaltee Hotel today.

"...ANHRWU unit presidents of the four casinos — Prakash Thapa, Keshav Adhikary, Toya Raj Bhatta and Kalpadip Rai — alleged that the YF cadres had issued death threats against them..."
