Wyoming Court Upholds Gambling Machine Ban5 May 2006CHEYENNE, Wyoming – As reported by the Casper Star-Tribune: "The Wyoming Supreme Court on Thursday upheld a ban on a form of electronic gaming that allows gamblers to place bets on horse races that have already taken place. "Although horse racing is legal in Wyoming, the court ruled in a unanimous decision that 'Instant Racing' machines still constitute illegal 'gambling devices' because the races don't happen in real time. "…Officials with the state horse racing industry said the loss of the machines, which had promised relief to their sagging industry, will take an additional toll." |
