Wynn Las Vegas launches wireless internet, VOD17 June 2008LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Cox Business/Hospitality Network (CB/HN), a full-service, facilities-based provider of advanced voice, video and data solutions as well as a leading source of in-room video and data technology services to the hotel-gaming industry, today announced the launch of its high-definition Video On Demand (VOD) platform in the new Encore at Wynn Las Vegas. CB/HN will also provide wired and wireless Internet connectivity to Encore guest rooms as well as to the convention and meeting rooms of the Encore and Wynn Las Vegas convention areas. The hybrid IP/coax platform being installed at Encore at Wynn Las Vegas was designed by CB/HN and will deliver in-room VOD in both standard definition (SD) and high definition (HD). All 2,716 rooms at Wynn Las Vegas as well as the 2,034 rooms at Encore will receive free-to-guest programming in both SD and HD. Navigation menus will be rendered in HD. David Blau, vice president and general manager of CB/HN, notes, "We're very pleased about our continuing partnership with Wynn Resorts and the opportunity to provide both the existing Wynn property and the beautiful new Encore with our products and services." CB/HN will not only add wireless Internet connectivity to all existing Wynn Las Vegas guest rooms and the 200,000 square foot convention area, but it will add wired and wireless connectivity to the new Encore at Wynn Las Vegas and its 60,000 square feet of convention space. Among others, CB/HN will provide a wide variety of HD and digital channels and on demand Hollywood blockbusters in HD. |
