Workers at Horseshoe Casino Cleveland vote to join union28 August 2012CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Plain Dealer reports today that workers at the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland have voted to join a union and are ranking the issues they want to negotiate with management. The report says that the bargaining agent, the Cleveland Casino Workers Council, is an alliance of four unions that already represent casino workers in other states — the United Auto Workers, the United Steelworkers, the Teamsters and UNITE Here, a hospitality employees union. The unions are also trying to organize workers at the Hollywood Casino Toledo and hope to represent employees at a second Hollywood that is to open in Columbus in October and another Horseshoe that is expected to open next spring in Cincinnati, according to the Plain Dealer report. |
