Woman Likely Selected for Pennsylvania Gaming Board

PENNSYLVANIA – As reported by the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "Gov. Ed Rendell said he likely will select a woman as the final appointment to the seven-member Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

"'We are in the process of talking to several women. If I can find a quality woman, who is well qualified, fits the bill and is willing to serve, that will be my preference,' Rendell said Wednesday in Pittsburgh.

"…All six appointees to the powerful new commission, including two chosen by the governor, have been men. Rendell has until Saturday to name his last choice. During an impromptu news conference yesterday on a sidewalk in the Strip District, he said he probably won't have an announcement until this weekend…"
