Woman Claims Final $1 Million Lottery Raffle Prize

13 January 2006

MIDDLETOWN, Pennsylvania – (PRESS RELEASE) -- A business owner from Littlestown, Adams County, is the fourth and final winner of $1 million from the Pennsylvania Lottery's first-ever New Year's Eve Millionaire Raffle game.

Lottery officials presented Terri Neiderer, 45, and her family - husband, Joe, and parents, Jerry and Patricia Sneeringer, of Hanover, York County - with a commemorative check today at Rosie's Restaurant, New Oxford, Adams County, which sold the winning Raffle ticket. Rosie's Restaurant, owned by Sue and Pat Senft, received a $5,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

Neiderer's father, Jerry Sneeringer, purchased the winning Millionaire Raffle ticket, but gave it to his daughter and son-in-law to claim. In addition to "being sensible" with their winnings, the four say they plan to take a family cruise. Neiderer and her husband own Sneeringer Memorials in Littlestown, a family business they purchased from her parents several years ago.

The selection of four $1 million top-prize Millionaire Raffle tickets and five $100,000 second-prize Raffle tickets, which came from a pool of 500,000 tickets that were available between Nov. 22 until they sold out on Dec. 5, was televised live on the Lottery's Dec. 31 drawing show. Five hundred $1,000 winning Raffle tickets also were selected.
