Woman Arrested on Suspicion of Bringing Sawed-Off Shotgun to Casino

RENO-- As reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal: ``A 20-year-old Reno woman was arrested on accusations that she took a backpack containing a sawed-off shotgun and rounds of ammunition into a casino, police said.

``Mariah Clinton told police she found the shotgun last month in a vehicle and was trying to sell it to raise money to pay for a place to live, said Reno police Sgt. Doug Evans.

``...About 9:30 a.m. Thursday officers were called to the Peppermill Hotel-Casino, 2700 S. Virginia St., on a report of two possible runaways loitering. Clinton was found standing near two women. The officer asked Clinton to put her backpack on the floor. Evans said Clinton placed it by her feet and then ran out the door. The officer chased her to a nearby apartment complex and arrested her..."
