WMS Gaming Product System Receives Nevada Approval

21 May 2004

WAUKEGAN, Illinois -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- WMS Gaming Inc., a subsidiary of WMS Industries Inc. (NYSE: WMS) today reported that it has received final regulatory approvals from the Nevada Gaming Commission and Gaming Laboratories International, Inc. (GLI) for the Company's new proprietary wide area progressive gaming system. The approvals follow the successful completion of field trials in four casinos (two casinos for each regulatory agency) and occurred one month ahead of WMS' original internal estimates. As a result of the earlier than anticipated approvals, WMS plans to launch both a Nevada and a Native American MONOPOLY(TM) Money(TM) wide area progressive jackpot in its new Bluebird(TM) cabinet early next month.

"We are eager to launch this exciting new product line, where casino patrons will be able to enjoy one of the most popular brands in gaming featuring WMS' renowned flair for bonusing and entertainment with a chance to win large progressive jackpots," stated Brian Gamache, President and CEO. "Based upon the strong performance of the wide area progressive games during the field trials, we expect this new product line to be an important part of our business model going forward. We are commencing an aggressive marketing campaign to promote the launch of our progressive product, which includes several in-casino promotions aimed at increasing the visibility of both of the base games supporting the MONOPOLY Money themed progressive system - Money 7's(TM) and Wild Chance(TM). We expect that the installation of MONOPOLY Money themed gaming devices, coupled with the launch of two other non-progressive participation series during the June quarter, will result in growth of our installed base of participation gaming devices during the June 2004 quarter. The early approvals in both jurisdictions represent the culmination of almost three years of efforts led by our Reno-based systems group and we are extremely proud of their accomplishments."
