Winning Lottery Ticket Lost in Laundry

GABON – As reported by the Agence France-Presse: "The winner of the biggest ever jackpot in Gabonese gambling has lost the right to claim his 91 million CFA franc (US$171,000) haul after his wife washed the winning ticket.

"Only one person predicted the order of the first five finishers in a race on September 12, earning himself a record 91,045,300 CFA francs, the public relations officer of the bookmakers, Hyppolite Ndong Sima, told AFP.

"…'Unfortunately, he was unable to present the green part of his ticket, which acts as proof, and explained that his wife had... washed the trousers he had left it in,' he said…"
