Winner Channel Launches in UK1 March 2005WILMINGTON, Delaware – (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Winner Channel, UK cable's first iTV fixed odds gaming service, successfully launched on the Telewest cable network last week and is slated to launch on NTL next week. The Channel is operated by Two Way TV, the interactive TV and mobile services specialist, and Zone4Play, Inc. (OTCBB: ZFPI), a leading provider of multi-platform gaming solutions. The news follows an extension of the deal between the companies to cover multiple platforms in the UK. The Winner Channel will also be rolled out on the Internet and on mobile telephones, offering users a single account that can be used seamlessly across the three platforms. With the Winner Channel available across three platforms, players can register once and play all of the games on either a PC, mobile phone, or at home in front of the television. The mobile version of the Winner Channel is distributed through Two Way TV's 'Mobile Zones' (red button services on satellite and cable that let viewers download mobile content with their remote control), as well as through more traditional mobile distribution channels. Guy Templer, Commercial Director of Two Way TV, stated, "The launch of the Winner Channel on Telewest has been remarkably successful and judging by the first week's response there is a lot of demand for this type of service - we are already well ahead of our numbers. This natural extension allows our viewers to enjoy the same games and level of service when they are away from home". The single account solution is supplied by Zone4Play's ZoneMAS(TM) system. IdanMiller, SVP Marketing and Sales at Zone4Play states, "We are proud to be the technology facilitators of the world's first gaming service that empowers punters to play on iTV, mobile and the Internet. The Winner Channel has already revolutionized the direction of the entire gaming industry. Interactive betting and gaming has proven to be one of the most successful genres on the Internet and iTV. We strongly believe that its success will be replicated in the Mobile space." |
