William Hill to open four Iowa sportsbooks Thursday

(PRESS RELEASE) -- William Hill U.S. will open and accept wagers at four sportsbook locations across the state of Iowa on 15 August at 12 p.m., marking the first day of legalized sports betting in Iowa history.

The new sportsbooks, which will be located in four different casinos in the state, will open their doors to visitors and sports fans with grand opening celebrations including, ribbon cutting ceremonies, special guests and ceremonial first bets.

The four William Hill Sports Books are located at Prairie Meadows Racetrack and Casino, Lakeside Hotel Casino, Isle Casino Hotel - Waterloo and Isle Casino Hotel - Bettendorf.

Prairie Meadows Racetrack & Casino
Community leaders and Government officials will participate in the grand opening celebrations, which will include a ribbon cutting ceremony and the first ceremonial bets placed in the sportsbook. The sportsbook will operate in an 8,600 square feet space on Level 4 of the resort, near the property’s racing center. The space features a new bar surrounded by state-of-the-art video wall technology for viewing sporting events and live betting odds.

Lakeside Hotel & Casino
The opening celebrations will be led by David Monroe, Vice President and General Manager of Lakeside Hotel & Casino, as well as William Hill and Affinity Gaming executives. The festivities will include a ribbon cutting ceremony; the first ceremonial bet placed in the sports book by Joseph Reynolds, a World War II veteran who currently resides in Clarke County, Iowa; a check presentation to the Clarke County Chapters of the American Legion, the nation's largest wartime veterans’ service organization. The sports book is visible as soon as guests step off the escalator and will feature 14 65-inch viewing monitors with 4K LCD displays and two 86-inch viewing monitors with 4K Ultra HD displays.

Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo
Baseball Hall of Famer, Andre Dawson will participate in the grand opening celebrations, which will include a ribbon cutting ceremony and the first ceremonial bet placed in the sportsbook. The first 500 fans who place a bet will receive a commemorative t-shirt. The sportsbook will feature eight 65-inch odds boards, 15 55-inch viewing screens totaling more than 46 feet of viewing monitors and both standard tables and high-top tables creating an optimal viewing experience for fans to gather to watch their favorite teams.

Isle Casino Hotel Bettendorf
Mayor of Bettendorf, Robert Gallagher, will lead the grand opening celebrations, including a ribbon cutting ceremony and first ceremonial bet placed in the sportsbook. The sportsbook will open to the public immediately after the celebrations. The sportsbook is located on the Iowa-Illinois border in the Quad Cities region. The casino is three hours west of Chicago. The sports book will have 12 55-inch odds boards and eight 65-inch viewing monitors and a mix of high-top and standard tables.
