WhichBingo launches "Online Bingo Awards"1 December 2010(PRESS RELEASE) -- The search has begun to find the UK's Online Bingo "Site of the Year" and "New Site of the Year" for 2010. This year marks the eighth running of the WhichBingo Online Bingo Awards. In 2009 the crown of "Site of the Year" went to Ladbrokes Bingo, while the "New Site of the Year" was named as Bingo Playground. Previous winners include Mecca Bingo and Think Bingo. The WhichBingo awards were launched back in 2002 to celebrate and reward excellence in online bingo, by allowing players to vote for their favourite sites. The awards are designed to reflect the quality, excitement and entertainment value of online bingo sites. With voting opening on December 1st 2010, online bingo sites throughout the UK have already begun campaigning for votes from their players. All online bingo sites in the UK are part of the vote for "Site of the Year", which is widely regarded as the most prestigious in the industry, while the shortlist for "New Site of the Year" is made up of those sites which have entered the market since January 2010. Founder of WhichBingo, Phil Fraser, said: "With so many new bingo sites entering the marketplace in 2010, players now have a far wider choice of places to enjoy the game. This increased competition has led to some innovative developments throughout the bingo industry and sites are rewarding players with some thoroughly entertaining new features. "Our online bingo awards give players a chance to voice their appreciation for the sites they feel deserve recognition for their achievements." The announcement of the 2010 winning bingo sites will be made in January 2011.
