Wheeling Island track hires dealers

WHEELING, West Virginia -- As reported by the Wheeling News- Register: "Several students at West Virginia Northern Community College apparently played their cards right when they sought employment at a local racetrack.

"Officials at Wheeling Island Racetrack and Gaming Center have hired their first card dealers for future table gambling operations. About 100 people auditioned for jobs last week, and spokeswoman Kim Florence said most were offered positions with the track. ied out were "a lot of good candidates."

"...The new employees won't be able to start dealing for customers until at least November, though. This is because the West Virginia Racing Commission won't have its own new employees to regulate the games in place until at least that time..."
