West Virginia Table Game Bill Dead

WEST VIRGINIA – As reported by the Charleston Gazette: "Barring a miraculous late-night comeback, legislation that would authorize county referendums to legalize casino-style table gaming at the state's four horse and dog tracks (SB442) appeared to be out of luck and out of time Wednesday.

"The bill was taken off the afternoon agenda of the House Judiciary Committee Wednesday afternoon, when three delegates who had been supporting the bill said they had changed their minds.

"With the committee meeting late into the evening to deal with the governor's bills on insurance reform and to crack down on meth labs, racetrack lobbyists conceded Wednesday that the bill most likely would not survive this session…"
