West Virginia table gambling bill passes

CHARLESTON, West Virginia – As reported by the West Virginia Intelligencer: "Legislation that would allow county votes on table gambling at West Virginia's four racetracks is now awaiting Gov. Joe Manchin's signature.

"Racetrack officials, meanwhile, are beginning their efforts to get the referendums before voters as quickly as possible.

"The West Virginia House of Delegates voted 55 to 43 this morning to concur with table gambling legislation amended in the state Senate. The Senate then approved the measure by a 21-13 vote.

"…The legislation passed permits officials at West Virginia's four racetracks to petition their respective county commissions to place a table gambling referendum on the ballot…"
