West Virginia Casino Hearing Denied

WEST VIRGINIA – As reported by the WTRF: "The West Virginia Supreme Court will NOT hear an appeal by anti-gambling groups against a proposed casino in Lewis County. Supporters of efforts to develop a casino at the old Weston State Hospital say this is the news they have been waiting for. Weston Mayor Jon Tucci says that now that the appeal has been denied, developers and interested parties can begin seriously thinking about development at the old state hospital.

"Voters approved gambling at the old state hospital in a referendum last November. Anti-gambling groups challenged the legality of the referendum. A Lewis County Circuit Court rejected the challenge, prompting the appeal to the West Virginia Supreme Court. Tucci says now that that's over it's time to get down to business…"
