Weinert Joins Spectrum Gaming Group

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- (Press Release) -- Veteran gaming journalist Joe Weinert will join Spectrum Gaming Group, LLC as managing editor of its publications and online operations, the company announced Tuesday.

Weinert, who has covered the casino industry for eight years at The Press of Atlantic City, has more than two decades of experience in journalism. Weinert, among other responsibilities, will lead Spectrum's flagship publication, Gaming Industry Observer, as it expands the depth and breadth of its award-winning analysis of the gaming industry.

"Joe Weinert's coverage of the industry is well-known for being comprehensive and for offering insights that others miss," said Spectrum Managing Director Michael Pollock. "His talent and experience are assets that will benefit our readers, who represent the leadership of the gaming industry."

Weinert will also work with Pollock and Spectrum Managing Director Fredric E. Gushin to enhance existing lines of business and develop new ones. Gaming Industry Observer (www.gamingobserver.com) co-produces some of the industry's leading conferences, such as the Mid-Atlantic Gaming Congress, which will be held here May 20, and the annual Gaming and Technology Conference, held here each fall. Gaming Industry Observer has received three national awards for editorial excellence from the Newsletter & Electronic Publishers Foundation, the only gaming trade publication to receive national recognition.

His feature stories have appeared in IGWB, Casino Journal, Casino Executive and other publications, and he is a sought-after speaker at industry conferences. Weinert is a 1982 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and lives with his family in Galloway, N.J.
