Washington tribe opens expanded casino

ARLINGTON, Washington —- As reported by the Snohomish County Daily Herald: "The grand opening ceremony for the newly expanded Angel of the Winds Casino in Arlington ended at noon on Sunday, and about 400 people were already lined up, waiting to get inside.

"The expansion tripled the casino's size, adding 44,000 square feet of space for gaming and other leisure pastimes.

"The casino, owned by the Stillaguamish Indian Tribe, has long been the smaller, little sister of the Tulalip Casino, which is located just a few exits south on I-5, but Angel of the Winds Casino officials say the expansion may change that perception.

"...The expansion took most of the year. On Monday, the original gaming area will be closed for a quick renovation that involves new paint and carpet..."
