Washington Legislature Passes Account Wagering Bill13 March 2004WASHINGTON – As reported by the Thoroughbred Times: ``The Washington Legislature has passed a bill allowing Internet and telephone account wagering on horse racing in the state and has sent the measure to Governor Gary Locke. ``The measured passed on a 42-7 vote in the Senate on Monday after a 79-17 vote in the House of Representatives last week. In addition to account wagering, the bill would lift restrictions on simulcasting that had limited betting to 14 hours a day, five days a week, and just one simulcast card. It would also lift a ban on simulcasts at off-site facilities when Emerald Downs is not racing…" |
