VLT card could help problem gamblers: study

23 February 2011

CANADA -- A study by the Nova Scotia Gaming Foundation has shown that the My-Play-System may help problem gamblers, according to CBC News.

The program was introduced to help non-problem gamblers guard against addiction, CBC said.

Under the system, cards are inserted into the machine that allow the gambler to stop play and set a time limit, the report explained.

The ongoing study showed so far that the system was more likely to help problem gamblers who used it to monitor and regulate their behaviour, according to the CBC.
