Virgin Islands approves 'racino' bills

ST. THOMAS, Virgin Islands -- Among the five bills signed by Virgin Islands Gov. John deJongh Jr was a racino bill, The (Virgin Islands) Daily News reported.

The approved racino bill will permit casino gambling at racetracks, the report said.

The governor supports developing the racing industry in the Virgin Islands and this law will specifically mean the introduction of slot machines and video lottery terminals at several racetracks in the territory, The Daily News report explained.
