Viejas Casino Certified as “Responsible Gambling Facility” for 7th Consecutive Year

3 July 2013

SAN DIEGO, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Viejas Casino announced today that it has achieved re-certification as an official “Responsible Gambling Facility” by the California Council on Problem Gambling (CCPG).

In 2007, Viejas Casino became the first casino in California to gain the certification and is one of three in the state to be re-certified this year. In order to gain certification by the CCPG, Viejas Casino was required to provide comprehensive training to its Team Members, comply with an extensive list of requirements and demonstrate the willingness and ability to help those affected by problem gambling.

Viejas Casino General Manager Chris Kelley said, “Although problem gambling only impacts a relatively small percentage of people, we continue our commitment to providing a safe and entertaining environment for all of our guests, and we are very proud to earn re-certification as a Responsible Gambling Facility.”
Robert Jacobson, Executive Director of the California Council on Problem Gambling, said, “A pioneer and early adopter of many of the responsible gaming standards currently in effect in California, Viejas’s dedication to creating a healthier gaming environment for its guests has remained unwavering for more than a decade.”
The other two California casinos also earning re-certification are San Manuel Indian Bingo & Casino and Pechanga Resort & Casino.
