Victoria Readies for Casino Announcement

VICTORIA, British Columbia – As reported by the Victoria News: "The company that owns Great Canadian Casinos is expected to announce plans for a casino in Victoria as early as the end of this week.

"During a shareholders conference call last Thursday, Great Canadian Gaming Corporation chief financial officer Anthony Martin told investors the company is currently looking for property to house a 'regional hotel and entertainment complex' in Victoria.

"…The company has been working with the city and the BC Lottery Corporation on a proposal that is six months or more away from final approval, he added.

"…Great Canadian spokesman Howard Blank said the company has been negotiating with 'another operator' in Victoria who has been seeking a casino licence.
